A folly is a construction that is intentionally useless or bizarre and serves no other purpose other than decoration. Many folly’s might be considered as art and let people dream, looking at the world in a different way. The location of the follies is the Lageveld, a recreation area in the outskirts of the municipality of Wierden. The design for the folly Sitting on the dock of the bay is inspired at the function of the recreation area. A direct relationship with the surronding has also been made. The place of the folly is in a spot on the waterfront. A place to relax, thinking, play, eat and drink or just waste your time. The folly stands for enjoying life.
